Welcome to the Lake Country Retriever Club
Welcome to the Lake Country Retriever Club (LCRC), located near Prior Lake, MN.
LCRC, is an amateur retriever club that was founded in 2001 with the primary goal of supporting the AKC hunt test sport. The club has evolved since it was originally founded and now offers its members a host of different opportunities to increase their knowledge, experience and participation in the training and competition of their retrievers. The goal of our club is to help you and your dog realize the utmost of potential.
The club is recognized as a sanctioned American Kennel Club (AKC) and United Kennel Club (UKC) / Hunting Retriever Club (HRC) and we host two AKC annual hunt tests, these tests feature a Master, Senior and Junior stakes. The first test is conducted in May and the second in June. The May test also offers an Owner Handler Qualifier, a test that follows Field Trial guidelines. The club will also host a UKC / HRC test in May, which includes three stakes: Finished, Seasoned, and Started.
In addition to the AKC and HRC Hunt Tests, the club offers its members three Tournament Style Challenge hunts in January, February and March. Our event schedule includes many different training opportunities, including: Mentor Training, Pro Training Nights, Seminars, and open training on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the MN Horse and Hunt Club.

One of the main reasons many of us join a retriever club is to spend time with our dogs with a goal of building the best retriever we can, whether it be for hunting or to pursue the performance level events. After you are a member for a few years, you’ll find one of the big reasons you continue with LCRC is the comradery and friendships developed through the club.
The LCRC board is constantly looking for new opportunities for its members and new ways to support the canine community as a whole.
